From "relationclient.net":
If you work in the B2C world, i.e. your company sells its products directly to consumers, you know certainly how much your Web site is important. The french company Numericable seems to be able to afford the closing of its site during several weeks.

At its site it indicates clearly: "We currently carry out evolutions on Customer-Space. This service will be unavailable until the 13/02/2006. Thank you for your comprehension"

This is coming from a company which manages the access to the network and cables several million houses in France. The updates of Web sites are of course normal for big companies, but it's unusual that one of them efford the closing of all its online services for several weeks.

More important than a data processing department is obliged to suspend a Web site during several weeks to make it evolve, is the bad signal sent to its customers.

This is a bad idea.
